We were so excited that Kara and Zach were in town for a playdate (two actually) during Christmas. We had a breakfast playtime and also went to the children's museum. The boys loved Zachary. Gavin loved Kara ... he kept wanting her to hold him ... Gavin, she has her own toddler to lug around, she doesn't need another one :).
We gave Zach a little toy car as a small Christmas gift. The car mysteriously went missing at our house. It took 4 adults and 3 small people 30 full minutes to search our main floor and could not find the car ANYWHERE. It was crazy! Then, Matt, who is a kid disguised as an adult, found the car within 2 minutes. It was hidden inside a backpack. Matt said that was exactly where he would have put the car if he was little. There you go, I guess it pays to think like a child. :)
The boys had the best time rolling on the water bed at the children's museum. They were squealing with joy on there for at least 10 minutes.
Grandy had a huge deja vu moment upon reading this posting. Jessica had a waterbed crib matress and then a waterbed until she was almost 9 years old. Kara and her brother David came to bounce on the waterbed once in a while, now Kara and Jessica's boys bouncing on a waterbed. WOW. Kirk, another neighbor a few months older than Jessica would come down and knock on the door "Can Jessica play?" If I said yes and waved to his Mom waiting at the foot of the driveway, he would charge in and head for the waterbed....regardless of where Jessica was in the house. He was probably 4 and she was 3 and I am sure he never dreamt that we could see his real "motivation" for wanting to play! My how life comes around in circles. So glad I figured out how to post on this new blog! Thanks Jess!
